Sensory Delight

Designer: Agatha Reinhardt

Landscaped and constructed by: Curb Hunger

In essence the garden is a sensual experience, focusing on the personal wellness of the visitor. All 5 senses are invigorated, allowing the visitor to leave the garden relaxed and happy.

It draws inspiration from the richness of Northern African colours, as seen in the planting and mosaic artwork. This is combined with an olfactory experience of the Middle East, featuring the spicy aromas of cinnamon, nutmeg and aniseed.  Plants rich in essential oils, such as mint, lemon verbena, sage, lemon grass and lavender are used en masse.

The visitor is further relaxed by the white noise created by numerous water features in the garden. Taste and touch senses are stimulated by harvesting and tasting of the fresh herbs and vegetables. The garden is constructed from reusable, recycled materials such as poles, movable pots and gabions.
